ISKP Forms New Media Relationship with Pro-Islamic State At-Taqwa Outlet, Criticizes Qatar World Cup; An Analysis of At-Taqwa's Propaganda Operations
The Islamic State Khurasan Province (ISKP) is unique amongst Islamic State branches in having the most robust and dynamic sub-IS Central media and communications apparatus. ISKP’s Al-Azaim Foundation for Media Production is the branch’s chief propaganda organ and produces propaganda in more languages than any other IS branch save for the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria at its height.
ISKP’s media arm is also unique in its increasing collaborations with unofficial/pro-Islamic State propaganda producers. Al-Azaim has worked with the IS-aligned English language Halummu group to translate issues of IS’s official newsletter al-Naba and on content for ISKP’s Voice of Khurasan magazine. Al-Azaim has also partnered with the pro-IS I’lam Foundation archive and fundraising organization.
Just recently, ISKP has expanded its working relationships to include the pro-IS propaganda group At-Taqwa. This a notable but unsurprising development as At-Taqwa has recently collaborated with Halummu – a group ISKP has been collaborating with for months. It seems that Halummu had put At-Taqwa in contact with Al-Azaim.
