Turkistan Islamic Party Says Chinese Oppression Increasing in "Occupied" Xinjiang, Blames Government for Uyghurs Killed in Residential Building Fire, and Promises “Armed” Revenge
On December 5, the Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) published a statement criticizing and threatening the Chinese government, promising armed retaliation for Beijing’s “increasing” oppression of Muslims in Xinjiang (which they call East Turkistan). The piece was written by TIP Deputy Commander Abdu Salam.
The release follows a highly charged communique by the same author calling for international solidarity with the TIP cause to expel the “Chinese invaders” from “East Turkistan”. The publication stressed the necessity of “liberating” the region to prevent Chinese “hegemony” in Central Asia and globally. Likewise, an earlier video produced by the TIP’s Islam Awazi media outlet also focused on the plight of Muslims in Xinjiang and emphasized the obligation of the Islamic Ummah to unite in support of Uyghurs in East Turkistan.
