The March 22 mass casualty assault on Moscow’s Crocus City Hall venue, awakened the international community to the external operations capabilities of the Islamic State Khurasan Province (ISKP), IS’s Afghanistan Pakistan branch. With the high number of ISKP plots foiled across Europe in recent months and years and with the Olympics in Paris approaching, it is worthwhile to examine the types of weapons the branch and its international operatives have access to and are trained to use should such attacks take place in the West. This article will examine the weapons used by the group inside its operational territory and during its international terrorist attacks.
