Hezbollah's "Ababil" FPV Drones Used Against Israeli Tanks, Armored Vehicles, Air-Defense Systems, Military Vehicles, and Armed Forces
In the ongoing clashes in southern Lebanon, Hezbollah has increasingly relied on FPV (First-Person View) kamikaze drones against the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). These drones, which gained widespread prominence during the Russia–Ukraine war and have since been employed in numerous conflict zones, have become one of Hezbollah’s most frequently used weapons. They have been utilized extensively in attacks targeting both military positions in southern Lebanon and locations in northern Israel.
In attacks carried out using these drones, the group has targeted a wide range of objectives, including Merkava main battle tanks, armored vehicles such as the Namer APC, launchers of Iron Dome air defense systems, military vehicles, and Israeli soldiers.
